Excellence in Fibers VII
“Excellence in Fibers VII” is a touring exhibit organized by the national magazine Fiber Art Now. It contains 2- and 3-dimentional artworks by artists from around the world, many using nontraditional materials. The pieces include installations, sculptures, rugs, and quilts, and many have political undertones.
Artworks were selected by jurors Petra Slinkard, curator of fashion and textiles at Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, and Melinda Watt, president of the Textile Society of America and curator in the Department of Textiles at the Art Institute of Chicago.
