Little Free Fibrary 2.0

Little Free Fibrary is an interactive art project introducing people in Onondaga County to quilting arts. Introductory quilting kits containing instructions, information about quilting, and all materials needed to create a simple quilt block will be distributed throughout Onondaga County via the existing network of “Little Free Libraries”—sites for free book exchanges where anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Each kit includes a return envelope for participants to share their work for inclusion with others’ blocks in a community quilt.

This year, our project focuses on applique–a style of textile work in which pieces or patches of fabric in different shapes and patterns are sewn or stuck onto a larger piece to form a picture or design. This year's theme is “seasons” and so there will be 4 different designs: Spring (April/May), Summer (June/July), Fall (August/Sept) and Winter (Oct/Nov). There will also be special edition kits available at community events throughout the year, so follow the project @littlefreefibrary on Instagram for those announcements.
