The Syracuse University Brass Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. James T. Spencer, presents a public concert.
Music from over 400 years will highlight this performance with selections from the Wizard of Oz and Disney's "Frozen," a surround-sound brass experience from 16th century composer Giovanni Gabrieli, modern classic "Fire in the Blood" by audience favorite Paul Lovatt-Cooper, holiday carol favorites, and much more. The concert will be opened by the United Church of Fayetteville Handbell Choir. A free will offering to benefit outreach will be collected.
The Syracuse University Brass Ensemble is a group of 35 professional-level brass and percussion musicians; members include Syracuse University faculty, staff and alumni, the State University of New York Upstate Medical University faculty and staff, and accomplished musicians from Upstate New York communities.
The SU Brass is traveling to Gettysburg Pennsylvania this June to participate in a national brass band festival at the historic battlefield.
